As per Procurement Policy mandate & to expedite and encourage the SC/ST enterprises to be part of public procurement process, the hub would facilitate vendor development programmes which will be organized by CPSEs/Central Ministries. These programmes are being introduced with an aim to enrol potential SC/ST suppliers to be the part of respective supply chains. Facilitation to regular vendor development meets would be organized, to strengthen the interaction between CPSEs/Central Ministries and SC/ST suppliers. Post interactions, the SC/ST suppliers would be evaluated and adopted under Vendor Development Programmes. The broad steps for adoption of SC/ST enterprises are detailed in the below diagram.
Special Vendor Development Cell would be created in procurement department of each CPSE/Central Ministry with a nodal officer for SC/ST vendors. Furthermore, Stand-Up India and other Government programmes will be leveraged by CPSEs/Central Ministries to extend support to new SC/ST enterprises as part of Vendor Development Programme.
